I think this is one of the scariest movies I have ever seen...and I didn't see anything. No blood, guts, violence. Just sheer suspense. This is how a thoughtful, smart, intelligent horror movie is made.1963 film directed by Robert Wise stars Julie Harris, Claire Bloom, Richard Johnson, and Russ Tamblyn as a group of investigators looking into a house that is reportedly haunted. All have some claivoyant abilities or have experienced some paranormal events during their lifetimes. But no matter what they have experienced before pales when compared to what they encounter at Hill House.
Put aside the usual expectations for this genre...it will surprise you, entertain you, and frighten you.
