Tense 1964 film directed by Cy Endfield stars Stanley Baker, Jack Hawkins, and a very young Michael Caine.British garrison in Africa is attacked by thousands of Zulu warriors. Attempts to develop characters take a back seat to the impressive battle scenes that run throughout the film. Action sequences are surprisingly good considering this was made almost half a century ago.
Caine is good as novice, prissy officer who proves himself worthy to fellow officers and comrades in arms.
Exciting and memorable.
